Do the speakers need to be connected to separate amplifier?

This speaker doesn't contain an amplifier, however our Master unit does! This speaker is designed to be paired with our Lithe Audio All-in-one Bluetooth Rock Speaker (Master) for dual zoned gardens

Can the rock speaker be left outside all year round?

Yes our rock speaker is IP56 rated, so can be left outdoors. We recommend in the winter months to put away in the garage.
